Discover the art of Terra Sigillata in a 4-week hands-on workshop with internationally recognized ceramic artist Natalia Laluq.
Learn to prepare, apply, and burnish this refined clay slip to create smooth, luminous surfaces on your leather-hard pieces. Bring your own work from class or home to experiment and refine during each session.
Natalia draws inspiration from the rich ceramic traditions of the Trypillian Culture (5400–2700 BC) of ancient Ukraine. She has collaborated with Kyiv’s Honchary (Potters) cooperative and was commissioned by the Royal Ontario Museum (ROM) to create 46 archaeological original centrepieces along with several hundred small toys and figurines replicating Trypillian artifacts. The centrepieces were featured at the Gala Opening of Mysteries of Ancient Ukraine: The Remarkable Trypillian Culture (2008).
